Event overview:

The crew is assembled and briefed on the basic materials needed and knot techniques for constructing a raft. Raft building focuses on group dynamics, communication skills and leadership. They must work together on all stages from carrying their materials to designing, building and finally paddling their rafts. When the rafts are built, the groups paddle their rafts on a treasure hunt around the woodland lake. A race would be held if time permits. The hands-on section of the workshop is over when all rafts are completely disassembled. Then we debrief the experience, highlighting positive teamwork, and setting goals for improvement.
